Seoul Forest’s 24-hour park access does not keep the Butterfly Garden open year-round. The operator lists Butterfly Garden visits from May through October, with Monday closure. For November, check the separate Insect and Plant Garden instead.

Choose the actual facility, not just the park
Save the Korean names: 나비정원 is Butterfly Garden; 곤충식물원 is Insect and Plant Garden. They are separate facilities, so a map pin for 서울숲 alone does not answer which one you can enter. The park page’s 24-hour statement explicitly excludes some facilities. Put the wanted garden’s name in your plan, then use the operator’s guide for its location.

Read season and Monday together
The Butterfly Garden is listed for May–October, 10:00–17:00, closed Mondays. The Insect and Plant Garden is also closed Mondays, with winter shortening from November through February. A November visit does not restore Butterfly Garden access merely because it is not Monday. On a Monday, consider a general park walk rather than promise either garden will be available.

Reach the facility before its own cutoff
The operator page gives last entry at 16:30 for the ordinary 10:00–17:00 garden schedule. For the Insect and Plant Garden in November–February it lists 10:00–16:00 and last entry 15:30. Use that facility deadline, not park closing. Allow your own travel and walking buffer; the time your train reaches the station is not the time you reach the garden entrance.

Use the visitor center if conditions change
The visitor center is listed at 09:00–18:00, with park inquiries at +82-2-460-2905. Ask about the specific garden if a notice or weather change affects your plan. The official route names Seoul Forest Station Exit 4 and Ttukseom Station Exit 8; check the walk to your chosen facility after reaching the park. Do not cross a closed gate simply because surrounding paths remain open.

Your preparation card
| Record | Your check |
|---|---|
| Facility | 나비정원 or 곤충식물원 |
| Date | Month, Monday and current notice |
| Cutoff | Facility last entry, not park access |
| Alternative | Visitor-center inquiry or ordinary park walk |
A worked example
Hypothetical plan: you arrive on Tuesday 3 November at 15:40. It is not Monday, but Butterfly Garden’s season has ended; the winter Insect and Plant Garden’s stated last entry is 15:30. Neither a 24-hour park listing nor 16:00 facility closing fixes the missed cutoff. Shift the garden visit earlier or choose a park walk and verify current notices.
