Andong to Hahoe Village: choose the stop and plan the return first

Do not copy an old bus number and assume every departure time applies to your stop. Start with where you are boarding, then plan the return from the village all the way to that bus stop.

Your actual boarding stop · Current route + travel direction · Village → confirmed return stop · Return bus → separate onward connection · The village transfer, return bus and onward connection are distinct.

Choose the boarding area before the number

The city's current tourism table lists express route 2, 급행2, and route 210 for Hahoe from Andong Station/Andong Terminal. For downtown, it specifies route 210 across from Kyobo Life, 교보생명 건너편. The station area and downtown stop are not interchangeable.

The same table also lists 풍천2 and 하회셔틀 among village services. That list does not mean each starts at the station or runs at the same intervals. Save your exact stop and direction, then check its route. Do not rely on the old 246 number from an undated blog.

Read the timetable in the correct direction

Use the bus information system linked by the city and the latest dated timetable. Identify whether a time is departure from the route's origin, passage at your stop or departure from Hahoe. A route-origin time is not automatically the time at a downtown stop.

Record both an outward service and an earlier-than-last return you can realistically reach. Add time between the village itself and the city-bus boarding point. A train or intercity coach afterward is a separate connection; its ticket does not reserve space on the local bus.

Keep village access separate from the city bus

The Korea Tourism Organization lists a shuttle among the village's facilities. Confirm at the ticket area where the current village access transport boards, when it returns and whether it is included in your admission. This guide does not promise a free internal shuttle or a fixed frequency.

Ask: ‘안동역 가는 버스는 어디에서 타나요? 마을에서 그 정류장까지 어떻게 돌아가나요?’ This means: 'Where do I board the bus to Andong Station, and how do I get back to that stop from the village?' Keep a photo of the confirmed return stop sign.

If the bus information is unclear

If the live system cannot load or an old and new table differ, use the village tourist-information number 054-840-3795 or Andong tourism 054-840-3431 with your visit date, stop and destination. Get the direction clarified before boarding.

If the planned return is missed, check the next actual service and your onward connection together. Ask visitor staff about a taxi if necessary; availability and cost need confirmation. Do not spend an hour walking toward a guessed stop merely because the route number matches.

A worked example

Hypothetical worksheet, using times that you would first confirm for your own date: a return bus leaves at 16:00, the village-to-stop transfer needs 20 minutes, and you allow 10 minutes to find the stop. You must leave the village by 15:30, not 16:00. If the transfer is uncertain, leave earlier or get it confirmed; the 20 minutes here is an example input, not Hahoe's published journey time.

Official sources checked

Official sources for Andong boarding areas and Hahoe return preparation checked on 12 October 2026. This describes published guidance; recheck the conditions for your visit day. Examples are hypothetical planning exercises.
