Haedong Yonggungsa by Bus: Include the Final Walk and Return Stop

Getting to Haedong Yonggungsa takes more than reaching a bus stop. Save the correct temple, plan the final walk and steps, and locate the return stop before heading down toward the sea.

Two starting points to compare

Visit Busan lists buses 181, 100 or Haeundae 9 from Haeundae Station, Line 2, Exit 7, to the Haedong Yonggungsa stop. It also lists bus 139 from Osiria Station, Donghae Line, Exit 1. Compare the actual departure times from your hotel in a current local route planner.

Save 해동용궁사 and the address 부산광역시 기장군 기장읍 용궁길 86. Check bus direction and the final walk after the stop. Do not choose a same-named temple in another city or assume Osiria Station is the temple entrance.

Official guidance

The coastal view includes stairs

The official Busan description identifies 108 steps through the pine grove. This is important for travelling with a stroller, limited mobility or someone uncomfortable with stairs. Ask the temple about your exact access needs; a taxi to the entrance does not remove the internal steps.

Wear footwear suitable for walking, keep hands free on stairs and allow extra time in wet conditions. Respect worshippers and posted photography rules. The sea view is not a reason to cross a barrier or stand where a narrow passage must remain clear.

Plan the return before the viewpoint

The KTO listing checked on 9 October 2026 gives free admission and hours of 04:30–19:20, with last admission at 18:50. Confirm the temple’s current notice before a very early or late visit. Bus service and temple hours are separate checks.

Save the return bus stop on the opposite journey and check its final useful departure. For a taxi, show “해동용궁사 주차장 입구로 가 주세요” (“Please take me to the Haedong Yonggungsa parking entrance”). Arrange pickup at an accessible road point, not inside the temple.

A worked example

If your group includes someone who cannot manage a long staircase, solve access before booking the taxi. “Near the entrance” and “at the coastal prayer halls” are different destinations.

Common questions

Does the bus drop me inside the temple?

Plan a final walk after the stop and stairs within the temple route.

Is Osiria Station a direct temple entrance?

No. Visit Busan describes a connecting bus from the station.
