Manjanggul Is Open Again: Check the Entry Cutoff and Public Section

Manjanggul reopened in May 2026, according to the Korea Heritage Agency’s current route guide. Old “closed until 2025” results are outdated. Before traveling, check the day’s notice and plan to reach the ticket office before 17:00.

Confirm reopening with a current official source

The heritage guide describes the May 2026 reopening after visitor-path improvements. That confirms a reopening event, not uninterrupted access on every future date. The Jeju Tourism Organization listing gives a regular first-Wednesday closure. Read the current operator notices for your chosen day, especially if a search result still displays an older repair schedule.

Use the earlier cutoff when planning

The current JTO listing says 09:00–18:00 and ticketing/admission until 17:00; the heritage guide says last admission 17:10. Do not depend on those extra ten minutes. Plan arrival before 17:00 and ask the visitor office at 064-710-7903 if your arrival is close to the cutoff. A closing time of 18:00 is not permission to arrive at 17:50.

Plan the public section, not the whole tube

The heritage guide identifies Entrance 2 as the visitor entrance and describes about one kilometer of public passage toward Entrance 3. The tube’s much longer total length is not a walking route for ordinary visitors. Follow the designated path and current instructions. If stairs or walking surfaces matter to your party, ask about access before committing to the journey.

Keep the entrance and return route separate

Save the actual destination: 만장굴, 제주 제주시 구좌읍 만장굴길 182. A bus stop containing “입구” can mean a road entrance rather than the cave ticket office; compare the final stop and last walking leg in a current route planner. Separately record the return stop and departure you intend to use. This article does not promise a particular bus connection or journey duration.

A worked example

Hypothetical plan: a route app predicts arrival at the nearby road at 16:50. That leaves only ten minutes before the earlier published cutoff, before the final walk or a ticket queue. Move the visit earlier instead of treating the 18:00 closing time as an extra hour to enter. Recheck the real route and office notice on the day.
